[Class 122 (i)] The sheave contains a diametrical slot d' with parallel faces and semi-circular ends in which the eccentric on cam a on the power shaft of a pump works the angularity of the slot being varied, e.g by a worm h, to vary the throw; the sheave is retained in the strap by side plates pinned together and to the sheave having centra holes for the passage of the cam and shaft which is retained by a nut at the outer end.
