[Class 37] The body A of a shunt resistance is composed of one or more very short narrow blades of resistance alloy, and is welded or cast on to two small blocks G of a copper base alloy provided with lugs. The blocks G are bedded by casting into two large blocks B which are provided with cooling fins. The blocks B may be of a light alloy having low resistivity, connecting blades C being cast integral with the blocks. The drop of potential across the shunt is measured on two legs D on the small blocks, these blocks being shaped to be outside the large blocks.
