Abstract
572,608. Refrigerators. BRITISH THOMSON-HOUSTON CO., Ltd. Sept. 3, 1943, No. 14424. Convention date, Sept. 3, 1942. [Class 29] A receptacle 18 for storing butter in relatively warm condition has an inner wall 24 of ceramic material, glass or other non-conductor, and an outer wall 25 spaced therefrom to provide dead air insulation. The inner receptacle is warmed by transfer of heat through reduced cabinet wall insulation and by an electric heater. A recess 19 is formed in the cabinet insulation and the receptacle walls are secured by screws 27 to the inner liner 13 of the cabinet wall. A spacing flange 26 may be formed integrally with the inner ceramic &c. wall 24. An electric heating coil 33 may be wound around grooves 34 in the outer surface of the wall 24, the circuit being controlled by a thermostat 35 having an adjustment 36. The inner wall 24 may be moulded integrally with four sides of the outer wall, a separate back being secured to the outer wall, &c. of a phenolaldehyde resin. A heating resistance may be located in the space between the walls, the outer surface of the inner wall being covered with copper, aluminium or other heat conductor.
