Abstract

572,532. Automatic guns. DOBREMYSL, J. Feb. 28,1941, No. 29440/39. [Class 92 (ii)] Relates to cartridge belt feeding devices, as described in Specification 572,534, which are mounted on a stationary part of the gun mounting and do not participate in the recoil movements of the gun as a whole. According to the present invention, the feed mechanism derives its movement from a movable member of the breech action within the gun itself, and the belt carrying and guiding means are mounted in a fixed position independently of the recoil movements of the gun. In the form shown, an arm 3 is fast with a rocking-lever 2 actuated by cam surfaces on the breech block, as described in Specification 572,533. The arm 3 is connected to a member 4 sliding longitudinally in guides on the outside of the gun casing and conveving transverse movement to the belt feed slide 14 of the feed-box 6 by a pin 5 engaging a cam slot 18. The feed-box 6 is connected by pillars 20 with a fixed base member 19 on which the gun casing 1 can slide. The arm 3 and member 4 can readily be dismounted and assembled on the other side of the gun when changing from leftto righthand feed. Specification 515,423 also is referred to.
