Abstract

481,325. Toy guns. MARX & CO., Ltd., L. Feb. 1, 1937, No. 2953. Convention date, Oct. 29, 1936. [Class 132 (iii)] A toy gun of the pneumatically-operated paper-rupture type has a rubber sealing ring 126 with which co-operates a paper clamping ring C provided with spring-controlled guido links 62 connected by a pin 68 extending into slots in the frame 22 of the gun and into a slot 72 in the piston-rod 16 provided with a member 38 moved rearwardly by a cam 36 spring-pivoted on the trigger T and having an escape passage 60 for the member 38 to allow the piston-rod 16 and piston 14 to move forward under the action of the spring 18 and rupture the paper P. The frame 22 is indented to prevent sideward movement of the trigger and may be provided with an antifriction roller 58 for the piston-rod 16. The links 62 are held in retracted position, to clamp and seal the paper at the muzzle of the gun while the piston 14 is impelled forwardly, by stop means 82 on the cam 36 engaging the pin 68. The paper roll R turns about a stationary pin 84 projecting from wall of the gun housing at one end and unsupported at the other end which is adjacent a pivoted closure member. The paper strip is fed along a guide channel 92, secured to the clamping ring C, by a feed dog 102 provided with points 108 moving in grooves 110 in the guide channel 92 with which also co-operate points 114 on a resilient holding dog 106 for the paper.
