Abstract

Immediately a bobbin has been transferred into the shuttle, a suction-type tip bunch stripper operates on the next bobbin in the magazine. The stripper is brought into action by bringing a projection on it into the path of a projection on one link of a continuously-driven endless chain; as the link passes round a sprocket at the inner end of its travel, the projections disengage, leaving the stripper in engagement with the tip of the bobbin. When the projection on the chain leaves the sprocket, it encounters another projection on the stripper, whereby it pushes the stripper away from the bobbin to its position of rest.
