Abstract

571,616. Hydraulic accumulators. PARKER, A. LA R. Nov. 6, 1943, No. 18453. [Class 69 (ii)] A diaphragm - type pressure accumulator comprises a pair of sheet metal hemispherical or other shaped members 10, 10a, having flanged portions 16, 16a recessed to accommodate a beaded edge 18 on the diaphragm. The flanges are clamped between rings 21, 22 to bring their edges 20, 20a into contact, the bead 18 being then deformed sufficiently to provide a fluid-tight joint. The periphery of the bead is cut away at 19 to permit deformation. In a modification, the diaphragm is also formed with projections 26, 26a pressed into contact with the casing wall by spring rings 27, 27a. The walls of the casing members may be corrugated.
