Abstract
570,740. Postal account sheets. WADE, W. L. Feb. 1, 1944, No. 1826. [Class 146 (ii)] An account-sheet adapted to be folded on itself in a series of parallel folds to form an open-ended postal packet for the dual purposes of sending out firstly an account and subsequently the corresponding receipt, has the final folding-section 1 only, formed with one or more flaps or tongues 7 adapted to be tucked into the open ends of the folded packet or into slits 8 in the folding section 3 next but one to the final folding-section, and sections 1 and 2 each provided, by embossing or perforating, with a location b and a respectively for a postage stamp. The rear face of either section 1 or section 2 may be carbon-coated so that by folding along the line 5, the address of the person to which the account and receipt are to be forwarded is duplicated when written on one of the sections. For the first sending the sheet is folded with the addressed face of section 2 exposed, and for sending the receipt the folding is performed in a reverse direction so that the addressed face of section 1 is exposed. The tongues engaging slits may be provided on the upper edge or the side edges of section 1 or may be formed by slits in the section itself. The embossing or perforating of the stamp locations may be effected in one operation with the printing of the name of the firm and the account columns.
