Abstract

1,268,262. Coloured paper napkins. N. G. BARFRED. 24 March, 1970 [24 March, 1969], No. 15250/69. Heading B5N. [Also in Division A4] A coloured paper napkin consists of at least three plies of soft paper held together by an embossing along the borders, only the outer plies being coloured, the remaining being white. The outer layers may be in different colours. Rectangular napkins may be folded into a rectangular shape by a first fold not along a line bisecting the napkin and by a second fold perpendicular to the first and not along a line bisecting the once folded napkin so that a small corner of the inside of the folded napkin is visible after the two foldings. The napkins may be produced by carrying at least three webs of soft paper in super-imposed state, only the outer layers being coloured, over embossing rollers to provide longitudinal and transverse embossings which are spaced according to the desired dimensions of the napkins and then cutting the resulting multi-ply sheet into individual napkins by cuts along the centre lines of the embossings.
