Abstract

569,886. Ventilators. SEARS, G. H. July 12, 1943, No. 11311. [Class 137] A wall or ceiling outlet to an air supply duct comprises an open-ended casing 4 having a number of side apertures 5 and a rotatable sleeve 11 within it having a closure 15 at its outer end and side apertures 14 of the same shape, size and opening as those in the casing but less in number so that at least one of the latter can be closed when the rest register with the sleeve apertures. A deflector plate secured to the flanged end of the casing may protrude into the supply duct. The sleeve closure which may be a plain disc but is preferably domed has a grasping bar 16. The casing may be lined with felt, &c. In a modification the casing and sleeve are of frusto-conical shape, the smaller outer end terminating in a short cylindrical portion closed by a plate with a finger knob.
