[Classes 83 (ii) and 83 (iv)] Forging.-Full-way valves of the wedge or parallel slide valve types have the bodies forged in two parts a, b and welded, flanges f for the branches and also e for the cover are welded on. All welds are located at points of uniform cross-section so that automatic flash butt welding can be employed. The valve seats c, d may be integral or separate. In a modification the parts a, b are tapped to receive the branches and the section e is replaced by a tubular section tapped to receive a cover.
