Abstract
569,320. Sack holders. WINDLE, T. H. Oct. 27, 1943, No. 17731. [Class 58] [Also in Group XXXII] A sack-holding device comprises an open frame C, which co-operates with a member B to grip the mouth of a sack A, and a stand E, F to which the frame is readily attachable, the stand being removably supported by a wheeled base or trolley G and serving as a handle for the manipulation of the assembly. In the construction shown, the member B is in the form of a helical spring and co-operates with a channel in frame C to grip the sack. The frame has side plates D<2> and a back plate D, the latter having curled portions D<1> for suspending it on the cross-bar F of the stand. The cross-bar is adjustably mounted on the vertical member E and is held in place by a clamp F<1>. The member E is formed with a handle E<1> and at its base is formed with a spike E2, Fig. 3, for driving into the ground when the stand is detached from the trolley. The trolley has a socket G<1> for receiving the spike, and the socket and member E are formed with surfaces G<2>, E<3>, as shown, for preventing relative rotation. The trolley is provided also with a guide piece H fitted with a clamping member for gripping the member E at some distance above its lower end. The trolley comprises a skeleton structure formed of rods or tubes and is formed with guard pieces K for preventing the sack from contacting the wheels J.
