[Class 38 (v)] A tumbler switch is retained in its " off " position and in two contactmaking positions on either side thereof, by means of resilient pressure engagement between one of the pivots of the switch mechanism and a shaped formation of a plate or plunger. In Fig. 1, the dolly d and contact-rocker e are co-pivoted at c in the bridge a and a dolly-extension m is bifurcated to engage bosses c<3> on the rocker e to provide a driving-connection. - A bracket f movable freely up and down in a hole in the bridge a, carries a pivot pin g for a spring- plunger h, which slides in a member i pivoted at i<1> to the limbs of the rocker e, and has a depression h<2> in its rounded upper end cooperating with pivot pin c to determine the adjustment-positions. When the dolly and rocker are rotated to either side of the " off " position shown, the ends of the depression h2 co-operate with pin c to impart a snap-action and the pin c finally rests on one of the rounded parts of the plunger-end, the bracket adopting a position slightly spaced from the bridge so as to allow of this. In Fig. 5, downwardlyextending side-arms n of the dolly have shaped slots n' co-operating with the pivot pin s of the rocker t, the pin s being fixed in a carrier o pivoted to a lug p under the bridge a, and urged downwardly by a spring r. Rotation of the dolly about c' swings the rocker t about pivot s by means of the pin-and-slot connection v, w, the pin s snapping into one or other end of the slot n<1>. In Fig. 8, the lower edge of the carrier x is formed with a notch x<1> co-operating with the pin v<1> interconnecting the dolly-extension n<2> and rocker t<1>, the pivot s<1> of the latter being slidable in a slot in the upper edge of the carrier x.
