567,900. Aircraft undercarriages. VICKERS - ARMSTRONGS, Ltd., and WALLIS, B. N. July 9, 1943, No. 11196. [Class 4] An aircraft undercarriage comprises an oleo leg 10, 11 directly pivoted to a frame 15 carrying a series of wheels 16 arranged in tandem, the wheels being without pneumatic tyres. Thin tyres 17 of rubber may be used to distribute the ground pressure. In the form shown, the wheels are mounted in pairs on opposite sides of the frame 15 which can swivel about the axis of the oleo leg or tilt both laterally and longitudinally.
