Abstract

567,685. Securing handles to cock or tap spindles. JENKS, Ltd., E. P., and JENKS, E. P. June 22, 1943, No. 10019. [Class 80 (ii)] A hand or finger piece 4 is secured to the spindle 1 of a tap or cock by inclined faces 2 on the spindle engaging correspondingly shaped faces formed in a recess 5 of the finger piece, the base 5a of the recess having a hole therethrough for receiving the shank of a screwed pin 9 for holding the finger piece in position. The hole is smaller in diameter than the end of the spindle. The head of the screw 9 is received in a recess 12 in the upper side of the finger piece, and it may also fix in position a disc 11, coloured or marked to indicate hot or cold water. The finger piece may be formed as a hot brass pressing, die casting or a plastic moulding.
