Abstract
566,240. Valves. TOWLER, J. M., and TOWLER, F. H. March 15, 1943, No. 4165. [Class 135] [Also in Group XXVIII] A hydraulicallyoperated valve for controlling a pump unloading valve or valves or other auxiliary mechanism has an inlet 1 opening to an annular chamber 2 leading through a non-return valve 5 to an outlet 3 to a press cylinder, an outlet 6 leading to the auxiliary mechanism, an exhaust outlet 8a, and a relief valve 8. Pressure in the chamber 2 acts through passages 23; 24 on a piston 21, and at a predetermined value lifts a piston valve 10 against a spring 20 to put the chamber 2 into communication with the outlet 6. The piston 21 has a leaky fit which, together with the non- return value 25 damps the return movement of the valve 21 as in Specification 565,730. The unloading valve may be as in Specification 526,242, and a series of piston-operated unloading valves may be operated.
