[Class 100 (ii)] [Also in Groups II and XXII] A powdered copper-tin mixture is made by melting together copper and tin to form a brittle alloy, and powdering the product mechanically. An additional quantity of a powder of copper, tin, lead or zinc may be added to produce a mixture of desired final composition, which may then be briquetted to the desired shape. The proportion of copper to tin may be 55-70 parts of copper to 30-45 parts of tin, preferably 2 of copper to 1 of tin. Scrap materials may be used.
