Abstract
564,637. Optical projection apparatus. TAYLOR, TAYLOR, & HOBSON, Ltd., WARMISHAM, A., and CLIFFORD, T. W. Jan. 19, 1943, No. 994. [Class 97 (i)] Optical projection apparatus for films, of the kind comprising a casing A bearing a screen A<2> visible through an opening A<1> in the casing, together with a projection lens, film gate and lamp, is provided with detachable feed and take-up film spools K<1>, K<2> respectively, which are carried directly or indirectly by the casing, a re-wind spool K<3> detachably carried by the casing, and braking means acting on either or both the spools K<1>, K<2> to hold the film during projection. In the form shown, the spools K<1>, K<2> are carried by brackets H<1>, H<2> secured to a lamp housing which, together with the film gate, is rotatably mounted as described in Specification 564,509. The braking means comprise leaf springs bearing on their flanges. The re-winding spool is driven by a pinion engaging an internal gear J<5> rotated by a handle J<4>. If the film gate is not rotatable in relation to the casing A, the spools K<1>, K<2> may be carried directly by the casing. The construction of the apparatus is otherwise as described in the abridgment of Specification 564,509.
