Abstract

564,463. Flexible tubes. POWER FLEXIBLE TUBING CO., Ltd. June 18, 1943, No. 9840. Convention date, Dec. 18, 1942. [Class 99 (ii)] A flexible corrugated metal tube formed by an interlocked helical winding 2 has an internal winding 6 of non- metallic material which fills and projects from the corrugations. A flat metallic strip passes between corrugating rollers and is wound simultaneously with a cord of non-metallic material to which an adhesive is applied on to a mandrel. The material 6 may be paper, felt, celluloid, synthetic resin or rubber, and its coils are pressed into contact during winding, if of plastic material with the aid of heat.
