Abstract

833,054. Flexible hoses. VOHRER, H. May 13, 1957 [May 11, 1956], No. 15168/57. Class 99(2). A profiled strip 4 of synthetic resin is wound over a helical reinforcing filament 2 on a mandrel 1 so that the margins of the coils of the stip overlap and are joined to form a hose with a smooth bore at least between the coils of the filament. As shown, the strip 4 passes through a brake 5 and is wound on to the filament 2 which is coated with adhesive, the bond between the strip and filament being limited to one third of the periphery of the filament. Adhesive is deposited by a wheel 7a on the marginal portion of the strip ; alternatively, the coils of the strip are welded together. The filament may be of wire, wire coated with synthetic resin, or of synthetic resin.
