Abstract
563,456. Condensers. DUBILIER CONDENSER CO. (1925), Ltd. (Dubilier, W.). April 29, 1943, No. 6792. [Class 37] A sheet-stack condenser is clamped by an annular member with rigid ends C, C<1> of relatively large cross-section for bearing against the outer ends of the stack or stacks A, A<1>, combined with integral side arms C<2>, C<3> of smaller cross-section and slightly resilient. As shown, one or both of the stacks A, A<1>, which abut against a central insulating compression member B<1>, may be held by clamping screws D<1>, D2, D<5> through the end plates bearing on pressure plates D. In the example shown, further stack elements are placed as at A<4> A<5> and are held by resilience of the arms C<2>, C<3> bearing on pads D<6>, D'. Units E, E<1>, E<2> thus formed may be assembled on rods through bosses C<4>, as seen in Fig. 4, in a casing F which may have cooling ribs F<2>.
