[Class 1 (ii)] In the manufacture of hydrocyanic acid by passing a mixture of gaseous hydrocarbons, nitric oxide, and at least one of the gases nitrogen, carbon dioxide, water vapour, and oxygen over a platinum group metal catalyst in a chamber lined with refractory material, the gases are-supplied to the reaction chamber at an elevated temperature below 250‹ C. Specifications 446,277 and 570,208 are referred to.
