[Class 54] A dry gas meter has poppet transfer valves e, f and g, h operated from the meter diaphragm by a single flag rod a acting, through crank arm b, link b<1> and blade or plate spring c, on an oscillatable spindle d to the ends of which the valve levers k, m are coupled. Movement of the spindle d is prevented, until the spring c has been stressed to a predetermined extent, by a snap-action device consisting of a quadrant arm t, u co-operating with an arm v on the spindle d. The pairs of valves e, f and g, h are arranged in separate closed compartments n, q into which the spindle d passes through stuffing- boxes s.
