Abstract

562,142. Vacuum cleaner connections. HOOVER, Ltd. Dec. 15, 1942, No. 17820. Convention date, Aug. 20. [Class 99 (i)] A vacuum Gleaner bag 6 is connected to the exhaust outlet 5 by a flexible connector having a bellows-like portion 9 and a cylindrical end part 8 adapted to be deformed for insertion within the bag mouth and to be held therein by its resilience. The bag mouth engages a shoulder 8a on the connector which may extend to the inner end of the stiffening sleeve 7 of the bag mouth and have a bead engaging the rim of the sleeve.. The flanged end 10 of the connector carries a rigid ring 11 secured to the. exhaust outlet and forms a gasket sealing the outlet. The outer bag 14 is clamped to the ring 11.
