Abstract
561,815. Furnace walls, roofs &c. BENNIS COMBUSTION, Ltd., and BENNIS, A. W. Dec. 31, 1942, No. 18574. [Class 51 (i)] Furnace walls, roofs, arches etc. comprise fluid cooled tubes A, Figs. 2 and 3, having fins C thereon formed in sections and adapted to engage with and retain in position on the furnace side of the tubes refractory blocks D. The blocks have curved sides to fit the tubes and recesses formed in the curved sides to engage the fins. The spaces E between the fin sections are wide enough to permit insertion of the blocks but are bridged by a pair of blocks when the refractory lining is in position. Fig. 4 shows a portion of an arch having fluid cooled tubes A with fin sections C supporting blocks E. The fins are broken transversely in the curved portions of the tubes to permit free expansion of the tubes. Specification 561,814 is referred to.
