[Class 44] A stud 12, for holding together two articles such as plates 10, 11, has a crosspin 16 of spring steel, or the like, supported in the middle, so that the ends of the pin are strained to grip in recesses 21 of cam surfaces 20. Slots in the plates permit entry of the cross-pin before the stud is turned by means of its screw-driver slot, or if non-circular, by means of another tool. A knob, operated by hand, may be used to rotate the stud. The stud may be completely detachable, or anchoredto turn in one plate. The cam surfaces may be pressed out of the plate, cast, or be formed on a separate washer.
