Abstract

559,952. Knitting-machines. TOONE (NOTTINGHAM) Ltd., B., and TOONE, R. N. Aug. 25, 1942, No. 11961. [Class 74 (ii)] A circular machine is provided with a device for receiving a yarn S withdrawn from knitting and for positioning the yarn upon reintroduction to the needles. The device comprises two members 171, 172 spaced apart to provide a gap between them, the yarn sliding laterally into the gap and being drawn out endwise from it. The member 172 is formed with a hock 172a having its tip directed into the gap so as to divert the yarn. The device as a whole can be moved into an inoperative position. Specifications 532,520, 532,586 and 550,102 are referred to.
