Abstract

1,255,274. Knitting-machines. F. SANGIACOMO. 17 Nov., 1969 [5 Dec., 1968], No. 56103/69. Heading D1C. In a circular hosiery knitting machine a device for longitudinally slitting the work comprises a member 1 having a slit 4 through which protrudes a heating filament 5 which can be heated to sever the work. The member 1 and the heating filament 5 mounted thereon are removably positioned on the needle cylinder and contacts 7, 8 engage relatively fixed rings 9 which are provided with electrical energy by means of leads 11.
