Abstract

559,236. Corrugating boiler flue tubes. ADAMSON & CO., Ltd., D., and PARKYN, P. A. W. May 6, 1942, No. 6066. [Class 83 (iv)] [Also in Group XIII] Eccentric corrugations are formed in a boiler flue tube 5 by rotating the tube under end pressure eccentrically over a heater 13 and against a former 15. The heated metal is deformed in passing between the former and a support 16 inside the tube. It is stated that the apparatus forms eccentric corrugations without thinning the metal, the tube being shortened along one side. Specification 17733/96, [Class 123], is referred to.
