[Class 97 (i)] In profile projection apparatus having a support for interchangeable lenses of different focal lengths, a work table, adjustable horizontally in a direction which may be parallel to the projection axis, is carried by a support adjustable both along, and rotationally about, a vertical axis ; the table may also be adjustable transversely to the projection axis, the lens support may be adjustable transversely to the projection axis, and the lamp house may be adjustable angularly about the work piece. As shown, a base framework A supports a carriage B movable on rails extending parallel to the projection axis. The carriage B supports a lamp house E, a work table D, and a support C<SP>1</SP> for a projection lens C ; projection may be on to a mirror reflecting to an upper mirror and thence to a projection screen at the front end of the base A, the upper mirror being carried by a framework as described in Specification 558,917. The table D has a transverse groove D', Fig. 5, to receive the work piece, and is supported by a roller D<SP>5</SP>, and a rib D<SP>4</SP> and rollers K<SP>4</SP>, on a cross-slide K carried by a flange J2 attached to a support J which may be moved along a vertical axis by a screw J', Fig. 7, and around that axis. Movement of the table D in the direction of the projection axis may be effected by a rack D<SP>2</SP> engaged by a long pinion D3 on the slide K, and the slide may be moved transversely by a nut K<SP>1</SP> engaged by a screw K<SP>2</SP>. The lens support C' is detachably mounted on a slide C<SP>2</SP> movable transversely of the projection axis, and the lamp house E is movable on a support E' along an arcuate slideway centred about a point which may be on the axis of the support J. The movements of the various members may be effected by cables passing round remote operating drums L and pulleys D<SP>7</SP>, K<SP>5</SP>, Q, &c. ; means for compensating for movement of the carriage B may also be provided. The lenses may be as described in Specification 550,870.
