Abstract

558,843. Preventing creep of railway rails. IBBOTSON BROS. & CO., Ltd., and HARTLEY, S. Oct. 8, 1942, No. 14129. [Class 104 (ii)] An anti-creep device comprises more than one clip of the kind having a pair of jaws 13, 14 gripping the rail flange 15, the clips being arranged side by side along the rail base and formed by bending a rolled steel bar with ribs joined together by a web 17, to form a unit. The portions of the clips contacting the flange 15 may be rounded convexly to grip the flange more effectively when the clips are canted by rail creep. The lower jaws 14 may have lugs 16 gripping the edge of the flange 15.
