Abstract
558,510. Optical apparatus. SOC. GENEVOISE D'INSTRUMENTS DE PHYSIQUE. Oct. 8, 1942, No. 14158. Convention date, June 27, 1942. [Class 97 (i)] The alignment of the axes of two parts a, b is checked by the provision in one part b of a reference mark 4 on a plate 14 and of one or more objectives 5 producing an image 6 of the mark in the plane passing through the centre of curvature of a concave mirror 7, or the equivalent, carried by the other part b ; the objective 5 produces an image 4<SP>1</SP> of the reflected image 6<SP>1</SP> and magnifies the spacing 6, 6<SP>1</SP>. The spacing 6, 6<SP>1</SP> is twice the separation d of the axes, and may be measured by a scale on the plate 14. Observation is effected by an ocular 3, and the mark 4 is illuminated by a lamp 9, diffuser 10, and reflecting prism 11.
