557,883. Building blocks and slabs. FALLON, J. June 13, 1942, Nos. 8104 and 9677. [Class 87 (i)] For walls made up of blocks for columns and wall slabs occupying the spaces between them the blocks a which may be corner shape or straight are formed of reinforced concrete &c. and made hollow with through gaps a<SP>7</SP> part way down the sides and recesses as below the gaps to take the projecting parts b<SP>2</SP> and edges b<SP>3</SP> of the narrower wall slabs b the reinforcements b<SP>1</SP> of which extend into the hollow block spaces where they may be connected together as shown in Fig. 18, the edges of the slabs being formed with interengaging rebates b<SP>4</SP> and projecting pins b<SP>5</SP> ; the blocks may have spaced gaps and recesses to take parallel wall slabs and the hollow spaces in the columns and between the spaced slabs may if desired be filled in with concrete. The wall may be completed with a coping provided on the underside with single or spaced recesses according as single or spaced wall slabs are employed. The blocks may be about 2 ft. by 1 ft. by 9 in., and the slabs about 7 ft. by 9 in. by 2 in. thick.
