557,577. Snap-action switches. ARROW ELECTRIC SWITCHES, Ltd., May 27, 1941, No. 3790/43. Convention date, June 14, 1940. Divided out of 557,543. [Class 38 (v)] In a snap-action switch having an operating lever 50 pivoted at 52 and connected by a dead centre spring 56 to a contact arm 58 pivoted at 60, the 'fixed' contact member comprises a spring 68 which in the open position of the switch bears against a stop 70. In the 'opening' operation, the contacts are both moving when the spring 68 strikes the stop 70, so that a quick break is effected. The lever 50 is shown operated by a thermal device described in Specification 557,576. Specifications 334,928 and 496,483 are referred to. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specifications 334,928, [Class 38 (v)], and 496,483.
