Abstract

[Class 38 (i)] The cable inlet of a junction box a, b is fitted with a resilient disc d having a thickened portion d<SP>1</SP> plain inside but grooved externally to fit into a recess in the wall of the box and having a conical portion d<SP>2</SP> with an aperture d<SP>3</SP> of smaller cross-section than the cable g so that it is forced outwardly on insertion of the cable and forms a sealing nozzle. The fitting d may be of polyvinyl chloride and is fitted into the wall of the box as described in Specification 552,502. The conical portion d<SP>2</SP> may be thinner around the aperture and can be cut off according to the size of aperture required. It will fit around non-circular cable.
