Abstract

552,502. Tube couplings. CRABTREE & CO., Ltd., J. A., McLOUGHLIN, H. F., HILL, W. E., MORGAN, R. W., and WINTLE, T.D.G. Oct. 6, 1941, No. 12883. [Class 99 (i)] [Also in Group XXXVI] In a wiring system for aeroplanes &c. the conductors are arranged loosely in a resilient conduit tube which is attached to the wall of a distribution box &c., by means of a resilient grommet, secured to the conduit and annularly grooved for insertion by a lateral movement into a slot in the wall of the box. The box e has semicircular recesses g<SP>11</SP> in its base and cover to form a circular aperture corresponding to a groove k in the grommet i. A liner f secured within the box has slots g comprising a tapered portion leading to a constriction beyond which the slot is of circular outline g<SP>1</SP>. The grommet is resiliently compressed to pass the constriction which then retains it in place. The grommet has a tapered formation l to direct water away from the box-wall. The conduit tube and grommet may be made of polyvinyl chloride. Specification 552,521, [Group XXXVI], is referred to.
