556,834. Lubricating grease. PARKER, A. LA R. April 21, 1942, No. 5295. [Class 91] [Also in Group V] A semi-solid lubricating composition in the form of a thick paste for sealing threaded metal jonts &c, contains 120 parts of a mineral oil, preferably a paraffin type oil of viscosity 140 to 220 secs. Saybolt at 210‹F., and 20 to 35 parts of fused lead stearate. The composition is prepared by heating the oil to 130 to 160‹C. and adding in small amounts finely divided fused lead stearate whilst stirring, and continue stirring until the consistency is uniform. A minor proportion of lead oleate or lead palmitate may be present.
