555,459. Clogs. BRANSTON, W. W., and TEDDS, H. July 29, 1942, No. 10592. [Class 17 (ii)] A clog sole 1 is formed in two or more parts with a rubber or other flexible hinge member 3 between the parts extending throughout the thickness of the sole and having flanges 3a, 3b on the tread. These flanges may be flush with, or may extend beyond, the plane of the sole. The through portion 15 of the hinge-member may be wedge-shaped, and may have flanges on the inside of the sole, or it may be of solid or tubular cylindrical form. The hinge member is secured in place by adhesive, and further, if desired, by screws or tacks, or it may be vulcanized in situ.
