Abstract

555,387. Spray-producers. ROSE, W. H. Feb. 14, 1942, No. 2007. Convention date, Feb. 28, 1941. [Class 69 (iii)] A spray-producer comprises an air compressor 10, Fig. 1, having an exit opening 24 leading to a liquid containing compartment 22 having an exit opening 19 and containing absorbent material 23. A coil 19 of metal &c. is mounted in the centre of the absorbent material and atomization is effected by the blast of air acting on the liquid passing through the spaces between the turns of the coil. Liquid is delivered to the absorbent material from a vessel 26 through a dip tube 27. Fig. 5 shows a modification in which air is compressed by a rubber ball 42 and liquid is contained in absorbent material 45 through which passes the coil 47. Liquid atomized by the airblast will be delivered through a hole or holes formed in the end of the tubular part 35 which may be provided with a cap 48.
