555,354. Electric conductors. OKONITE CO. April 9, 1942, No. 4682. Convention date, May 21, 1941. [Class 36] An electric wire 2 is insulated by an outer layer 6 of natural or synthetic rubber and an inner glass thread wound helically over the conductor with such a lay as to necessitate its rupture before the wire breaks. The layer 4 consists of continuous threads of glass which may be lubricated by a small amount of insulating-oil such as castor-oil.
