Abstract

555,342. Elastic-diaphragm pressure gauges. BENDIX AVIATION CORPORATION. Feb. 13, 1942, No. 1987. Convention date, April 21, 1941. [Class 106 (ii)] Temperature compensating means for the diaphragms of pressure responsive instruments comprises an elongated temperature responsive element 36 attached at its centre to the centre of the diaphragm 18 and having its ends in contact with the second corrugation on diametrically opposite sides of the centre. The temperature responsive element 36 is rectangular and bimetallic its initial tension being adjusted by a nut 37. The invention is described as applied to an altimeter and the detailed movement is the same as that described in Specification 518,264.
