Abstract

555,315. Dust filters. BRITISH UNITED SHOE MACHINERY CO., Ltd. (United Shoe Machinery Corporation). Feb. 7, 1942, No. 1635. [Class 8 (ii)] Dust collecting apparatus, suitable for use with shoe repair machinery such, e.g. as described in Specification 529,036, [Group VII], comprises fabric filters 42 supported at their ends on slidable plates 44, 46 in a casing through which the air is drawn by a fan, the filters being shakable by a rod 82 attached to a plate 70 secured intermediately to the filters while the plates 44, 46 are held in position by a panel 60 having pads 89 on which they abut. The plates are removably held at their inner ends by clips 56, 58. A dust drawer 18 is provided below the plate 46, having a flange 77 engaging a rear sealing strip, pivotal latches 68, and a front wall engaging a rubber strip carried by the panel. Air enters by a manifold 12, Fig. 3, having inlets 14 for connection with dust hoods, and a connecting conduit 24 sealed by flanges 28 engaging a rubber strip 30 on the casing. A deflecting plate 38 with an upstanding flange distributes the entering air.
