March 18, 1942, No. 3624 [Class 75 (iv)] [Also in Groups XVIII and XL] An illuminating signalling, or advertising device consists of a length or coil 1 of high voltage gaseous tubing embedded in a protective envelope 5 of polystyrene which is moulded about the tubing and forms a substantial portion of the exterior off the device. The envelope may be of streamline form including a bluntnosed portion 6, tapering tail portion 7, and a flange 8 by which it may be attached for example to an aeroplane wing. A heating coil may be moulded within the envelope and the terminals for the tubing may be brought out through the envelope to attachment terminals 4. The polystyrene may be coloured.
