Abstract
554,711. Fire-extinguishing. BURT, F. W. May 12, 1942. No. 6388. [Class 47 (ii)] A support for fire hose comprises a tubular arm A, bent near its lower end to form a groundengaging spike B, and fitted towards its upper end with a curved arm G carrying strap fastenings, a bent member H with U-shaped members J to engage lugs on the nozzle coupling, and a curved piece K to engage the nozzle. At the lower end of the arm A, and spaced above it, is a curved U-shaped hose guide C which on one side is carried by a short length of strip steel D welded to the arm A, and on its other side by an extension E on the arm A. The upper end of this extension is inturned and carries, in line with the hose, a socket F for a bent operating handle L, which is held in the socket by a removable pin so that its position can be reversed for high or low elevation of the support. A cross arm M at the end ,of the handle carries hooks N for engaging the operator's belt in either position of the handle. Specification 546,813 is referred to.
