[Class 47 (ii)] A support for a fire hose comprises a bent tubular member C having at its front end pivot plates B carrying a member A fitted at each end with groundengaging feet A<SP>2</SP>, and at its rear end a plate C<SP>2</SP> fitted with a ground engaging spike C<SP>3</SP>. The forward end of the member C has rotatably mounted on it a member E to which is hinged a bent branch support H<SP>2</SP> carrying a support K<SP>1</SP> for an operating handle O<SP>1</SP>. A bolt carrying a clamping handle N<SP>2</SP> passes from the support K<SP>1</SP> through guide bars N<SP>1</SP> pivoted to a bracket N on the forward end of the member E. The arrangement is such that the support H<SP>2</SP> may be moved about its pivot to vary its inclination, while its lateral range may be varied by limited rotative movement of the member E about the member C. Independent locking devices N<SP>2</SP>, F<SP>1</SP> are provided to secure the support H<SP>2</SP> after either adjustment. The rear portion of the member C is provided with a U- shaped support D, one arm of which is serrated at its end, and a curved guide D<SP>1</SP> for the hose, the nozzle end of which is secured on the branch support H<SP>2</SP> by straps carried by a member L with the nozzle coupling engaging lugs M<SP>1</SP> on a member M, and the end of the nozzle resting in a curved cross piece M<SP>2</SP>. A remote control for the release of the spiked plate C<SP>2</SP> and the withdrawal of the support is. provided by a pivoted J-shaped member S carrying a ground engaging part S<SP>2</SP>, and cables T, T<SP>1</SP> connecting this member and the plate C<SP>2</SP> to a ring T<SP>2</SP>.
