Abstract
553,812. Feeding bullets in predetermined position. BEST, C., and MOLINS MACHINE CO., Ltd. Feb. 11, 1942, No. 1830. [Class 117] in devices for feeding articles such as bullets singly in a predetermined position, of the kind in which the bullets are delivered so as to lie across a transverse member in a shoot whereby the heavy end tilts over and the bullet falls through the shoot in that position, the transverse member 4, Fig. 2, is provided with a downward extension 14 which acts as a stop and prevents the ends of the bullet making wearing contact with the converging sides 5 of the shoot. Preferably the tilting member and its extension are in the form of a plate of spring steel, and is secured by an angle 10 to a plate attached to the front of the guides 5. Opposite the tilting member, the guides are formed as concave arcs 17 to allow room for the swinging movement of the bullets. The bullets are fed to the shoot from a hopper with an inclined rotating bottom, Fig. 1 (not shown).
