553,314. Ink-ribbon mechanism. GESER, J. R. Nov. 12, 1941, No. 14586. Convention date, Nov. 12, 1940. [Class 100 (iv)] In duplicating-arrangements for typewriters comprising, at each end of the platen, a casing 6 provided with a spool 3a and guides 29, 28 for superposed ribbons 2a, 2b passing along the printing line, a finger-lever 9 having a projection or eccentric 7 is provided for raising the guide 29c to facilitate threading of the sheets, when the casing is swung backwards. The guide 29 consists of a spring arm secured at the top to the guide 28. The finger-lever has an arm 12 which when the casing is returned, strikes the platen 1 or a stop and thereby permits the guide 29 to return.
