Abstract

552,632. Sieves. SPEIGHT. J. March 9, 1942, No. 3086. [Class 117] The mesh fabric 1 of a sieve is reinforced at its edges and provided with tags 4 of pliable material adapted to be bent round the edges of a supporting frame 6. The reinforcement may consist of fabric tape 2, which is woven in Y-form, the edges of the sieve mesh being stitched between two limbs, and the metal tags secured to the other limb by prongs 5 which are driven through the tape and turned over, or by other means such as rivets. The sieve may be mounted to a structure having means for adjusting the tension of the fabric as described in Specification 548,885.
