Abstract
552,592. Concrete floors. ELGOOD, F. E. Nov. 7, 1941, No. 14347. [Class 20 (iv)] An existing concrete floor A is provided with an additional surface layer of concrete or other surfacing E, and separation of the edges of the sections of this layer from the floor A is prevented by first partly embedding anchoring devices B in the concrete A, then securing reinforcing members to the projecting ends, and then applying the surfacing material. The layer E may comprise an under layer e<SP>1</SP> of shingle paving and an upper layer e<SP>2</SP> of metallic granulated paving. Instead of employing separate anchoring devices B, the member D my be formed with loops B, Fig. 3, which are first partly embedded in the existing concrete, and the surfacing layer then added.
