Abstract
552,466. Stretchers. THOMAS, B. M. G. Nov. 27, 1941, No. 15278. [Class 108 (i)] [Also in Group XIV] A stretcher afford alternative positions comprises a transportable rectangular framework a in which is mounted an adjustable inner frame consisting of three pivotally connected parts d<SP>1</SP>, d<SP>2</SP>, and d<SP>3</SP>. The foot-and-leg section d<SP>1</SP> is slidable horizontally to bring the head-and-body portion d<SP>3</SP> and the part d<SP>2</SP> into the inclined positions shown in Fig. 2 with their hinge-joint f in a lowered position. In a modification rollers are provided on the ends of the cross-shafts supporting the part d<SP>1</SP> in the frame a. A pivoted arcuate notched arm may be used for locking the head position d' in any position of adjustment.
